Hello again boys and girls!
Wow, it has been a while since my last post, mainly due to laziness and the fact i couldnt remember my password! Let me give you a brief update of whats been happening in the world of me…..
Firstly, some of you may be aware of my weakness for blackjack and the effects this has on my bankroll. Well, lady luck certainly shined on me for one whole week where I couldnt seem to lose a hand. Every double-down came in every gamble with a soft ace worked. I honestly felt like there was something wrong with the software on Pacific. Well after a few days playing blackjack my bankroll was up to $500.
Now, we all I believe have a weakness where we think we are better players than we really are. So, following this trend I decided to buy in to 50c/$1 NL table. After some initial success, stealing a lot of pots from very tight players, i finished the day with a bankroll of $745. I think you can guess what is coming next……….
Due to bad play, bad luck etc I lost quite a few buy-ins and after tiliting a while my bankroll was down to $83. So a lesson for us all. Dont do what I have done, learn from my mistakes! PLEEEEASE!
BUT then I stumbled across the Chris Ferguson challenge where he turned $0 into $20,000 (or somethng like that). Well good folks of the poker world i have set myself my own challenge. Following Chris Ferguson\’s bankroll managment advice I will be tryin to turn my $83 into a mega amount.
I decided though to play 5c/10c NL as the micro micro micro limits on Pacific are all 30sec for each player and it takes to soo long to play one hand, wheras the 5c/10c tables are 20secs per player. i have also decided to play only one table at a time and promised myself patience and discipline at all times. i hear you ask, \”Well Andy how has it been going\”?…….
Let me tell you its been fantastic!! Concentrating on one table I really followed each player, discovered their weaknesses preyed on them. Also concentrating on posistion at the table I have discovered enlightenment in poker. Anyhow after just two days into my challenge my bankroll has grown to $138, bout $50 in two days. I hope it continues…..lol
When my bankroll gets to $500 i will move up a limit to 12c/25c NL, thus leaving me with 20 buy-ins. Thank you Chris Ferguson and thank you to those who have left comments, most appreciated. Once again, thanks for listening and i will be back soon to blog some more……
Well guys I only gone and done it again!!! Playing blackjack but this time my bankroll has finally reached the $200 mark. I will definetly, for sure this time and this is the absolute LAST time i will not be playing blackjack anymore!!!
The variance in Blackjack is way higher than poker – trust me! lol
Anyway a big thank you to those who left comments on my blog, very very much appreciated. I would like to add one more thing the purpose of my playing poker in the style that i do is to try and build my bankroll whilst playing at micro-limits. I am not out to play better, cleverer or world class poker! I just do my best to make a profit and keep the bankroll growing!
Enough of the rant have an intersting story to tell about my local pub/bar. It was quiz night tonight with quite a few of the regulars in having a laugh when three youngish blokes came in trying to be the big men and mouthing off a lot. Saying things like this pub is shit, the customers are weird that sort of thing and how no one would take them on.
Well, we have a regular who quite frankly is a bit bonkers. He is the sort of guy who fights first and talks afterwards. Really nice bloke once you get to know him! The regular in question shot up, walked calmy over to the three gentlemen concerned and without a word said proceeded to knock all three of out – with one punch for each of them!!
I am not one to condone violence (I hate it) but i nearly fell off my chair laughing!! What a cool dude!! And now I can say I was there when it happened!
No poker played today so no updates for you – had a good day on the horses and won £240 quid but that is going towards xmas pressies this year.
Once again thanks for listening. see you soon. andy
Well here it is folks, the system I use to make a regular profit at the 3/6c NL tables at Pacific poker. Some of you may agree with me or think im a cockroach but take your time to see the results and in the long term it seems to work if not very very boring!
I always sit down at the 3/6c NL tables with 100BB or $3. I play six tables at once (the most Pacific will let you play at one time!).
AA and KK – just go all in from any posistion regardless of raise from previous players. If you happen to come up against AA when you have KK so be it.
QQ JJ 10 99 88 – only play these from the cut-off onwards if before i just fold em. If no one has raised yet I just go all in.
77 66 55 44 33 22 – fold em all – unless in small blind and if no one has raised i just limp in hoping to catch a set. If i do catch a set – just go all-in.
AK AQ AJ – play from the cut off onwards only. if before the cut off fold em. If no one has raised yet just go all in. if sumone has already raised, fold em.
Some of you may think this way of playing a little extreme but generally it works for me. At the micro-levels you will get plenty of fish who will call your all in bets pre-flop with a inferior hand. Sometimes they get lucky – but thats poker!
Once i double up on a table, i leave pocketing the profit and join another table keeping my total of tables at 6.
Well ! There we have it. Feel free to discuss or shout abuse at my blog. Take care and thanks for listening! Will post results soon, have not played poker today been to the races!
hI there and welcome to my brand new blog!
My name is Andrew Rothwell (poker name:andysan4). im 31 years old (unfortunatly) and live in the UK. I have been playing poker for about 4 years and having started on Pacific Poker with a $60 bankroll it has taken 4 years to reach the current level!!!
What??? I hear you say! You have taken 4 years to gain $70!
Not entirely true. I didnt use my Pacific Account for approx two years due to not having a computer and have lost a lot of my bankroll to the blackjack and roulette table. BIG MISTAKE and I have vowed never to do it again – I promise!!
Anyhow, the point of this blog is to share my playing style and a system (I hate that word!) which gives me a small but regular profit on the 3/6c NL cash tables.
All that detail will be revealed in my next blog as my hands are getting sore from all this typing! lol im just used to clicking a mouse!
Well thanks for listening and I hope to see you soon.
P.s feel free to discuss, argue, abuse this blog. Some of you may think me an idiot or just barmy but I am a nice guy really!
Take care!
